Imagine 10 years ago, turning up to an MTB ride with bumbag. You would have been the laughing stock of your mates, how times of changed. Function over fashion. Bumbags, hip packs, fanny pack, enduro bumbags… whatever you call them, they’re all the rage now. With good reason too, most riders do not like riding with a backpack on. You get hot and sweaty climbing, then poor weight distribution descending. With the height of all your gear slopping around whilst trying to hit a drop or a jump. Enter the Fox Racing Hip Packs, better weight distribution placed lower at the hips and a free to breathe back!
Fox offers three different versions of their hip pack, let’s break them down and work out which is best for you!
FOX RACING HIP PACK SLIM
The smallest in the range, the slim is the perfect race day or short ride hip pack. With enough room for small snacks, phone/keys and some small spares (think plugs, tyre levers, multi tool etc…). Designed to sit under a jersey, this pack is so stealthy your friends won’t even know it’s there.

FOX RACING HIP PACK
Next up in the range, the hip pack sits in the middle of the three bags. This is the next time up for longer rides, with the ability to carry water bottles either side of the pack. A considerably bigger storage pocket than the slim, the hip pack gives the ability to pack sandwiches and bigger spares (inner tubes, pump etc…). Ideal for bigger national enduro races with long liaisons and minimal access to food/water.

FOX RACING LUMBAR HYDRATION PACK
Finally, the biggest of the Fox Racing Hip Packs range. The lumbar hydration pack boasts a massive 5 litre storage capacity, stepping up the ability to carry more essentials, like a lightweight jacket as well as spares. This pack also features a 2 litre HydraPak reservoir and still offers the ability to carry a water bottle on the side. With this amount of water and storage on board, this pack should be reserved for big days out in the saddle, where the ability to carry your essentials is a must.
