It was inevitable we would see the Santa Cruz Syndicate race team running OneUp Components, since the PON acquisition of the company and being the parent of Santa Cruz. With the team running a full compliment of OneUp cockpit, bar, stem etc… These new signature grips are the cherry on the cake for the brand.
And who better to have running a signature grip than the phenom himself Jackson? Without doubt the best downhill racer of the current crop and force to be reckoned with a fair few years to come. He was seen running these grips most of the World Cup races last year, whilst OneUp have been tight lipped until now. They are now available to purchase, lets dive into a first look into what makes them different.

One of the most unique features of Jacksons grips are the fairly large outer flange. Measuring at 38mm, this is something we have not seen in this size on other rival products. The idea is that this gives more support for the hand, to help avoid slipping off the end of the handlebar. Jackson says it also gives himself something to push against in corners, at warp speed of course.

The grip also features ridges underneath for finger grip, they are angled slightly to promote an aggressive riding position. These are something we have seen before on OneUp’s original lock-on grip. On top we see a cushioned palm pad, similar to the ODI Elite Pro or Ergon GDH. This offers better hand comfort from trail feedback.
Riders that prefer a slimmer grip will be happy (including myself). Jackson’s grips measure at 30mm in diameter and fairly lengthy 140mm long.
