Maxxis Minion DHR II DH Folding 3C MaxxGrip Tyre

Available now, the Maxxis Minion DHR II DH Folding 3C MaxxGrip Tyre at Grip & Pedal. This Downhill spec casing is the choice tyre of many World Cup DH racers, some using on the front as well as the rear. The MaxxGrip compound offers the tackiest grip.

With side knobs borrowed from the legendary Minion DHF, but widened to provide more support, the DHR II corners like no other. The centre tread features ramped leading edges to improve acceleration and sipes to create a smooth transition when leaning the bike. Paddle-like knobs on the centre tread dig in under hard braking and help keep the bike under control.

Pair it with a Assegai or High Roller 3 up front for the ultimate aggressive DH riding tire combo! Both are available in trail, enduro, and downhill specs.

Available technologies:

3C MaxxGrip:

• 3C MaxxGrip uses the softest rubber compounds to offer the ultimate in grip and slow rebound properties for unparalleled traction in downhill applications.

Downhill (DH):

• Two layers of casing material are used from bead to bead, providing additional protection and sidewall stiffness for downhill applications.

Tubeless Ready:

• Tubeless tyre provide the rider with many benefits. The ability to run lower air pressures, which generally improves traction. Lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre and less chance of flatting because there is no tube. Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tyre: tubeless road, tubular, and tubeless ready.

Wide Trail:

• Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises the tyre’s tread layout and profile on today’s modern, wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tyre profile, leading to less than optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for a 35mm inner rim width but are proven to work over a range from 30-35mm inner rim widths, depending on the rider’s preference.
