Maxxis Shorty DH Folding 3C MaxxGrip Tyre

The Maxxis Shorty DH Folding 3C MaxxGrip Tyre is a superb choice for British wet riding but also works well in loose dry conditions. This is a go to front tyres for many enduro/DH riders in the UK. Go Shorty on the rear for maximum traction.

After gathering years of data and feedback from our World Cup Downhill and Enduro World Series athletes. The Shorty was redesigned in 2021. The knob layout has been altered to improve wet traction, cornering performance, and mud shedding abilities. The narrower 2.40″ casing improves frame and fork clearance for when things get really sloppy and reduces weight.

3C MaxxGrip:

• 3C MaxxGrip uses the softest rubber compounds to offer generally the ultimate in grip and slow rebound properties for unparalleled traction in downhill applications.

Downhill (DH):

• Two layers of casing material are used from bead to bead, providing additional protection and specifically sidewall stiffness for downhill applications.

Tubeless Ready:

• Tubeless tyre provide the rider with many benefits. The ability to run lower air pressures, which generally improves traction. Lower rolling resistance when compared to a tube-type tyre and less chance of flatting because there is no tube. Liquid sealants should only be used in the following types of tyre: tubeless road, tubular, and tubeless ready.

Wide Trail:

• Wide Trail (WT) construction optimises the tyre’s tread layout and profile on today’s modern, wider rims. Traditional tyres are designed around older, narrower rims and can create an overly square tyre profile, leading to less than optimal performance. WT tyres are optimised for a 35mm inner rim width but are proven to work over a range from 30-35mm inner rim widths, depending on the rider’s preference.
